Once Evopos has been installed you can start the main Evopos program by clicking on the Evopos icon on your desktop. You can also start by clicking the Start menu button, select All Programs, select the Evopos folder and select Evopos Main.

When you start Evopos for the first time you may get the Database Connection screen. See Connecting Evopos to the database for more information.

When starting for the first time you may also get a Licence screen where you can specify which modules you require (You can change this at any time in Settings). You may also get a Wizard screen to help set up the database.

You may also get a Log-in screen when first starting (depending on the workstation settings). On new systems we normally set some operator pass codes (1 or 2). Once logged in, you should see the top menu and the default start-up screen (normally the Sales screen – Can change in Settings / Operator)

An important part of Evopos is 'how configurable everything is', so you can set up the program to suit the way you want to work. This means screens can look different depending on the operator and the settings used. There are system-wide settings and settings that only apply to certain workstations or operators.

Importing Data

It can save a lot of time if you have data that can be imported. It is good if the data to be imported in a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel. This also makes it easy to tidy it up and make consistent.

Stock - We have many options for importing your stock. Alternatively we can get started quickly by having a series of general part numbers, when we select one of these we can modify the price (and maybe description) when selling. We can also use these for customer ordering. When we have your individual stock items entered these can be used instead.

Supplier Price Books - These can also save a lot of time in data entry. We have a wide range of Price Books that can be downloaded from our Portal (Subject to Price Book subscription)

Contacts - Contacts are the general name for both Customers and Suppliers

Units - Units can be Cars, Boats, Bikes or anything where we need to track the individual history. We also have Model templates to make it quicker to create new units.

Sales - You can import previous sales history and debtor information
