Importing from MYOB

Export core data from MYOB

Open MYOB and make sure no-one else has MYOB open

Select File, Export, Cards, Customers. Select match all and select Export

Select File, Export, Cards, Suppliers. Select match all and select Export

Select File, Export, Items. Select match all and select Export

 

This should create files for each of the above. The files should be in the format of ‘Tab de-limited’, be named and have the order of columns as follows

CUST.TXT

STOCK.TXT,

 

 

Import data into EVOPOS

Copy the files created above into C:\EVOPOS\CONVERT on the computer that has the data.

Start Data-Admin and enter the database password (normally bbs1955)

Select Import and change Import Format to MYOB make sure the files are named as expected and in Tick if to delete any existing records and tick the options to import

Select OK from the right menu.

 

Alternative Import format

Often the data needs to be tidied up and have additional information added. If this is the case you can first open the files created in the first option in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel. You can then make changes and add columns as required. Before you Import the columns must be arranged in the order for our General CSV Import (see Info sheet on CSV Import)
