Contacts - Find, Edit and Create



When you first enter the Sales screen, you will notice that the Invoice To field is displaying the name * COUNTER SALE *. This is the default contact record for when we do not need to enter a Name. It is important to keep this record for this purpose, Note it should have an ID of 1.

You can allocate a contact record to any Invoice or Delivery address. Simply type the some of the contact name into the 'Invoice To' field and press Enter. If the name is unique, it will appear instantly with the relevant address details. If not, the system will take you to the contact browse screen where you can search by part name, postcode, phone number etc.

If you know the Customer No of the Contact you can enter -Cxxx at the Part Number lookup field (where xxx is the Customer No)

Some transactions, such as Unit sales or customer orders, will force you to select a contact record before you can finish the transaction.

As well as manually changing the delivery address, you can set a default delivery addresses in the contact record. See Contacts - Delivery Addresses for more information.

Also if the customer always needs to be invoiced to a different account (say the Head Office) we have an option to set an 'Invoice To'  in the contact record. See Contacts - Delivery Addresses for more information.
